Event Description:
From May 4-7, 2026, the German American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. in New York, on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy, will organize a delegation trip for buyers from the United Nations (UN) to the IFAT trade fair in Munich, Germany.
The 4-day delegation trip is exclusively organized for UN procurement officers from the Environmental and Sustainability Technology sector to provide information about the German market such as waste, water, sewage and sustainability and to learn about new products and developments. Furthermore, the participants will have the opportunity to network with German companies and experts from this important industry (download flyer here).
In Germany, the environmental technology industry plays an increasingly important role, accounting for approximately 15–20 percent of the national gross domestic product, with a continuously growing market share. The sector is characterized by innovation, sustainability, and a strong commitment to addressing ecological challenges.
The IFAT trade fair will take place from May 4-7, 2026 at the Messe Munich exhibition center in Germany.

Morning: Arrival in Munich, Germany – Hotel check-in
Evening: Welcome dinner with the delegation at a nearby restaurant, including participant introductions and program overview
Tuesday, May 5, 2026
Morning: Seminar — "How to Do Business with the UN" for German companies, followed by scheduled one-on-one meetings
Lunch: With the delegation at the trade fair
Afternoon: Guided trade fair visit
Wednesday, May 6, 2026
Morning: Site visit to a best-practice environmental technology facility
Lunch: With the delegation
Afternoon: Scheduled one-on-one meetings (technical staff may participate remotely)
